Make a Donation of Securities

Gifts of publicly listed securities, such as stocks and mutual funds are a fantastic way to support the Canadian Constitution Foundation. These gifts are relatively simple to make and may provide a greater tax benefit than the same gift in cash. That's because, as of May 2006, the taxable portion of the capital gain on donated securities has been reduced to 0%. In contrast, if the securities were sold for cash and then donated to the CCF, 50% of the capital gain would be taxable.
Gifts of publicly listed securities are eligible for a tax receipt for the fair market value of the gift as assessed at close of the market on the date of transfer or delivery. Gifts of publicly listed securities can be made as a direct transfer of funds from your account to the CCF's RBC Direct Investing account.
